About Me
Hey, I'm António - a Software Engineer drawn to hard problems in distributed systems: how machines agree on truth, how data stays consistent at scale, and how to make all of it fast.
When I was 6, I watched Indiana Jones and decided I wanted to be an Archaeologist. At 11, I realized most Archaeologists don't get to shoot nazis and explore ancient ruins while wearing cool hats. When I discovered that with the right mods I could do all that in Minecraft, I became a Software Engineer instead. And here we are - building systems that don't fall apart when things go wrong.
Outside of work, I still dig into consistency models and replication protocols for fun. I also have a soft spot for programming language design - there's something satisfying about building the tools that build the tools.
Skills
Coming Soon...
When I eventually have a thought worth writing, I shall do it, but for now, I'll remain in silence.
Causal Consistency Simulator
Enhanced a simulator to achieve realistic throughput and latency metrics for consistency model simulations.
Go Protocol Runtime
A work in progress runtime to implement and execute distributed algorithms in a pseudocode-like fashion.
